Japanese students in general have a weakness with oral English presentations. That is presentations given in English before an audience. Therefore this course in speech (public speaking) combines grammar, vocabulary, listening and speaking activities with speech skills such as delivery, organization, visuals, and persuasion. This is a communicate course designed to focus on “proven presentation skills.” We will cover specific techniques in order to prepare students for public speaking. A particular emphasis will be placed on presenting techniques, composition, structure, and successful delivery of presentations.
